BOOK SIGNINGS AND UPCOMING EVENTS

Book signings, author events, and conventions are a blast, although they can be crazy, too. I try not to do more than one or two events per year so I can focus on my family and writing. If you're interested in getting your books signed and you can't meet me in person, look under
Reader Extras for information on signed stickers for your books.

FAQ about book signings

NOTE: I usually have special giveaways for members of my online reader group  (the Joanna Wylde's Junkies) at booksignings. If you're a member of the Junkies, be sure to identify yourself when you reach my table!

Imperfect Perfection panel with Kristen Ashley, Rebecca Zanetti and Joanna Wylde

Why we like the uneasy hero. On paper, some heroes wouldn’t be all that much to write home about. But in novels it isn’t just about the redemption of a man through the woman he loves but all of his actions put together, the good/ the bad, historically and going forward, that give him depth and make him worthwhile. That his imperfections are what makes him interesting... what makes him perfect.

FAQ about book signings

Q. Do I have to buy a book to get something signed?

A. Absolutely not. I'm happy to sign scrapbooks, bags, e-reader covers or anything else (human bodies above the waist only, please). I also have signed swag available at my table.

Q. What if I see an author sitting alone at their table? If I go talk to them, will they be upset if I've never heard of their books?

A. PLEASE go talk to any author at a signing, especially if they don't have someone at their table. Authors love talking to readers, and there isn't an expectation that you buy something unless you want to. It's very hard to sit alone at a book signing. Reach out to any author (or reader) and you're likely to make their day.

Q. What if I see you in the hotel? Is it okay to say hi to you in the bar, or hang out?

A. Sure, within reason. For example, if an author is in a bar hanging out after the signing, she'd probably be happy to visit with you. If she's in a closed bathroom stall, not such a great place for a selfie. Use your common sense and remember that authors are often introverts. Cut us some slack if you catch us outside the signing at a bad moment ;)
